If you’re not looking for a barnstormer, but still want it to look nice, the A5 2.0T is a solid option.
Manual?

I worked with a guy with one of those - manual, awd, 2.0t. It’s a nice car, you sit really low, (which is great because it adds headroom.) It got surprisingly good hwy mileage. It’s not real fast. He had oil usage issues though not as bad as some have had. It got stuffed into a fence in the snow...

I know it needs 300% more cylinders.

B8.5 A4/A5 didn’t get the 3.2. (Last model year for that engine was 2011)

My daily is a B8.5 A4 with the 2.0t engine. I’m perfectly content. It’s fast enough to get me in trouble. I believe they 2012 A5 also has the 8 speed ZF auto, which honestly is the best slushbox Ive ever driven and probably the best ever made.
I’d have bought the A5 not the A4 but I needed back doors for school carpool duty.
Food for thought: the EA888 engine is very tunable. APR’s Stage 1, which is an ECU reprogram can take it from 220 to just short of 300 hp for $600.

Oh believe me, this wouldn’t be my first choice lol. I’ve started planning my next fun car purchase (3-5 years down the road)and I’m torn between a 221 S65 or a C6 ZR1 (or depending on where my salary goes maybe a 222 S600) I seriously don’t know what I want more. I’m leaning towards keeping the S600 stock and going with the Vette but I don’t know. The 600 wouldn’t be going anywhere unless I found a S65 with the Designo interior(or a good 222). I really don’t want to pay upkeep on two V12 S classes either though...

That tuning is a lot cheaper than a good tune for a V12 lol. The buyer isn’t really interested in speed but it is in his radar. Thanks for the advice though!

If you want a 222, I honestly wouldn’t bother with the 600. The 550, with the right options, is an amazing car and has a much better engine than that old V12. A simple tune and you’ve got V12 power without all the repair hassle (the M278 is super reliable). In fact, 222 S63 is where it’s at. If you plan on doing any track time though, the corvette would be the best choice. That being said, tracking an S would be amazing and you might get youtube rich off of videos of that alone.

The 2.0t is a pretty reliable and quick engine.

Least reliable car I’ve ever owned. Engine grenaded 2 cylinders at 10k miles. Engine seals became bad at 25k. Traded it in at 80k after it left me stranded and would not turn over. High oil consumption the whole time. Had to add a quart of oil every month.
My recommendation would be to avoid

I’ve been driven in a S550 and it was very nice. There’s just something about a V12 though. It’s completely illogical but I just love having 12 cylinders whiring around in front of me.

It’s so wonderfully different. God damn I want a ZR1 though...
